New to blogging

Well, I gave in. My best friend Christy convinced me to make a blog! I feel strange, because everyone that I know of who has a blog, is married. And well...I am definetely not. haha. But this will be a good chance for people to know what I am up to in my life!! So I will fill those of you in, who will be reading this.

I have been out of high school now for three years. I took a year off after school, continued dancing and worked at a dance studio. I feel like it was a great move for me, because it gave me time to try and figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. I applied to a few universities for the following year and got into a few programs. I decided to go with a psychology program at Laurentian University. The good thing about the program was that it was offered through Georgian College in Barrie, so I could live at home and save money!! I was so happy to be able to stay at home, while still obtaining my education.

I had an awesome time being at school. I made a lot of amazing friends, and learned a lot about myself as well. Throughout the year a lot of life changing moments happened for me, so it will be always be a year that I will remember.

One of the amazing things that I did, was travel to Utah with one of my best friends John, and his friend Mike. I was already planning on going to Utah to visit my best friend Christy, but the boys were planning a trip as well so we decided to go together!!! It was so much fun. I loved being with Christy. I stayed for two weeks and loved every second of it! Christy planned so many amazing things for us to do, we were never bored!!! It was sooo amazing!!!!!

Another thing that happened in the year was, I got to go to New York City!!!! Going there has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, because I am such an arts geek! I would always tell my parents how much I wanted to go to broadway, and it happened!!!! I went to the ''Pulse'' workshop, which included teachers and choreographers from so you think you can dance. It was amazing, I got to see a lot of amazing dancers, as well as challenge myself with new styles and choreography. A couple hi lights from that trip were meeting Shane Sparks and Mia Michaels, and getting to see my first broadway show, ''Chicago''!

In August of 2007, I decided that I wanted to surprise my best friend Christy, at her wedding reception in Boston. She was married on August 15th, but I was too poor to make it to her wedding. So myself, John and my sister travelled the 11 hour car ride to Boston! It was a lot of fun driving and see all of New York State and then driving into MA.

Earlier that month, I decided that I wanted to audition for a post secondary dance program. I auditioned for George Brown Dance, (George Brown College) and was accepted! I found myself having to figure out a lot of life changing plans very quickly, like... moving to Toronto! My friend Jessica was also looking to move to Toronto for school, and wanted a roomate, so we went apartment hunting together and finally found the perfect place! We couldn't move in until October 1st, so for the month of September I was going to be living at my grandpa's house.

I was very excited to be living with him. My grandpa was a very funny person, and we got a long very well. The first week I was living there, we were eating dinner, when he started to feel very ill. He went very pale and crouched over on the kitchen chair. He told me he was unable to breath so I got him to the couch in the front room. I called his family doctor, who thankgoodness lived down the street. He came over and said that he was having a mild heartattack and needed to get to the hospital ASAP. He was then in the hospital for a month, before being put into pallative care. On October 23rd he passed away. It was a very hard time in my life, because I had just moved out 20 days earlier, and was in a new program, in a new city, and now my last grandparent was gone. But I made it through, and am still trying to be strong.

Life right now is just crazy busy. School is over in a month, and there is still so much to be done. Rehearsals on top of rehearsals, seeing plays, musicals, auditions, eating, sleeping. It is crazy. But it is what I LOVE more than anything, so I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!

I will post pictures once I figure out how to do so. I hope you all enjoy!

I'm sorry I had to delete the comment you left on my blog [you wrote my name in it and I don't put any personal details on there :)] but I'll add a link to yours on mine and I'll leave lots of comments for you. :)

I have a confession to make.. I snoop through your facebook dance pictures all the time and you look fabulous! Are you enjoying this program more than you the one you were taking through Georgian?

P.s. I'm really sorry about your Grandpa. I know how hard that is.
